چکیده

We present and discuss angle-resolved photoemission measurements from the (111) and (100) faces of CuAu single crystals containing 10 at. %%u oA u in th ebul k, togethe rwit hcomputation sof complex-energy bands and densities of states in the Cu90Aulo random alloy. Our calculations permit (.' a good understanding of the shifts and smearings in t e spectrum of Cu arising from the addition of Au with respect to the Cu d-band complex, the (11 Shockley state, and the (100) Tamm state. The observed position and width of the Au-induced structure in the density of states is also in good accord with the theoretical result. Aspects of the electronic spectrum of CuAu are compared and contrasted with those of CuA1, CuPd, and CuNi solid solutions.

Hydrochemically separation of gold from Copper Anode Slime by means of Thiourea solution

However, the conventional gold recovery process is cyanidation, due to the recent environmental laws; researchers are looking for alternative methods for the recovery of gold. Furthermore, the copper anode slime is one of the most important secondary sources of gold (about 1200 ppm). So, the main objective of the current work is gold separation from copper anode slime as a rich secondary source...

Gold–Copper Nano-Alloy, “Tumbaga”, in the Era of Nano: Phase Diagram and Segregation

Gold-copper (Au-Cu) phases were employed already by pre-Columbian civilizations, essentially in decorative arts, whereas nowadays, they emerge in nanotechnology as an important catalyst. The knowledge of the phase diagram is critical to understanding the performance of a material. However, experimental determination of nanophase diagrams is rare because calorimetry remains quite challenging at ...

In vitro element release and biological aspects of base–metal alloys for metal-ceramic applications

Objective: The aims of this study were to investigate the release of element from, and the biological response in vitro to, cobalt-chromium alloys and other base-metal alloys used for the fabrication of metal-ceramic restorations. Material and methods: Eighteen different alloys were investigated. Nine cobalt-chromium alloys, three nickel-chromium alloys, two cobalt-chromium-iron alloys, one pal...

Synthesis of dual phase bronze alloys from elemental nanoparticle constituents

Dual phase (a þ b) copper–tin alloys were synthesized from elemental nanoparticle precursors following consolidation, annealing and quenching steps. The precursors were derived from the sequential reduction of tin and copper salts in ethanolic solution. The dual phase microstructure exhibits a duplex character with a mixture of Cu-rich and Sn-rich (a þ b) regions. 2004 Published by Elsevier Ltd...
